Next Generation of Men Tribe

Your sons are growing up in a completely different world than you did. There are devices sucking their attention and creating disconnection. There's so much uncertainty and conflict. The social fabric of support is greatly diminished. There are countless temptations that we didn't have in our youth. Parenting today offers more challenges than ever before. As a parent who wants to give your son the best possible future, it's hard to know where to turn. That's where we come in. We help your 12-17 year old sons figure out who he is through time with a group of peers and men to guide them in this discovery.

This program is for young men that are not 100% satisfied with their lives and are willing to commit to trying something new.  This is NOT a therapeutic program.

For young men, ages 12-17

In the "Next Generation of Men Tribe,” Chris Hopper and Garrett Braun bring their skills to create an accepting space. A space where young men will discover and nurture the courage and vulnerability that awakens them to their authentic selves.

We provide a place for:

  • connection and self-discovery

  • confidence building

  • self awareness

  • empathy and understanding, and

  • expression where we can openly share the parts of ourselves that all too easily get squashed in our modern world.

This will happen through inquiry, communication, community council, service work, physical and emotional growth challenges, and tons of fun. The power of this work is greatly amplified by doing this as a group with the guidance and inspiration of men who have practiced this for over 20 years collectively.

School teaches your sons to develop their academic mind. But where are they to learn the important skills of conflict resolution, emotional regulation, leadership, and teamwork? Those are often learned later in life. What an advantage your sons would have if they learned those skills as a teenager! These are powerful skills that will bring out the best of them. This will ensure they will not feel isolated. They will be able to create a group of peers no matter where they go. They will have the self-confidence to express themselves fully and advocate for themselves and others. They will be the kind of accepting man that all types of people feel safe around.

As boys entering adulthood, Chris and Garrett received the message from society to not show weakness or emotion. We were not taught to appreciate all people in an equal and heart-centered way. We didn't have a space to ask about confusing changes as we went through the major transition of puberty. This put us in a state of denying our hearts, denying our truths, and living in fear, uncertainty, and with a sense of inadequacy.

We have each courageously opened to the pain which resulted from such distorted ideas. It is from this place of rejoicing in the beauty of our true (ever evolving) selves, after experiencing such turmoil, that we offer this program to young men in hopes that they won’t have to experience those years of pain like us.

Instead, we believe that your sons can have something different. They will be prepared to stand strong in their self-discovered values in the face of the immense challenges of the world. We are here to give them the experiences we never had.
